collagen treatment
The ageing process is one which primarily takes place in the connective tissue. Not only does connective tissue have a supportive function, it is also important to the transport process so vital to the metabolic process. Connective tissue is composed of single cells (the fibroblasts) and collagen fibres. In the fibroblasts, the collagen is constructed and developed on the one hand and decomposed and degraded on the other. Collagen fibres are made of the protein collagen. It occurs in both a soluble and insoluble form, and is a determinant for the condition of the skin. The higher the collagen content, the better the skin tone. As ageing progresses, the level of soluble collagen decreases. Through the application of soluble collagen, we attempt to ward off the signs of ageing skin. The elasticity of the skin is dependent on its moisture content and the moisture-retaining capacity of the fibres of the connective tissues.
